? Don’t be fooled into thinking that you can make millions of dollars by simply sitting at your computer for 15 mins a day, tweaking everything and you’ll be done until tomorrow. In the REAL WORLD, you’re going to have to spend more time than that every day just answering emails…. Sorry to be so blunt, but I live in the real world here! Don’t buy into these promises!
? If you find yourself believing what you’re reading, then check it out before you buy – you have nothing to lose – except maybe a little pride – if you find out that it’s a bunch of baloney. Far less than if you spend your rent money on a program that’s rubbish – how will you look at your kids again?

I can’t emphasize that enough. I’ve been doing this for a while now and I’ve made a list of the things you really need in this business.

? TIME - for planning – plan how your biz will look
for investigating – look around for the best programs – choose wisely
for budgeting – watch your money – lots of good resources are free online, or you can get them cheap at Amazon.com or Ebay
for completing – don’t skip around, spend time on one project, complete it and then move on to the next. You only have so much energy, don’t waste it jumping from one thing to another – you’ll never finish anything, you’ll get confused about which thing belongs to what, you ruin your chances of making money.
? MONEY – anyone who tells you that you can be successful in business without spending money is LYING to you! If you ditch your J.O.B. then you definitely need money on which to survive. I’ve not heard of anyone making money instantly, or even in the first couple of weeks – mainly because I don’t believe those who make the claims that they did! How can the whole world know about your website if you only launched it yesterday? Realistically it takes two or three months to even get listed in the big search engines like Google or Yahoo. There’s a whole science behind that process too – tell you in a bit.
? EDUCATION – that’s a big word too. Plan to spend some time each day reading and learning about what you’re doing… This is a good-sized learning curve and you need time to absorb it. I used to get my brains full in an hour flat, then take some time off so I could relax my head and absorb all that I had read. There’s a lot of education to be had for free, so don’t spend money unless you absolutely have to!
? A MENTOR – when you find a good one, you’ll have hit gold! You will find someone along the way who can help you to do stuff like website building, advertising, lead capturing, list-building, keyword hunting, search engine optimizing and all of the things that will inevitably lead you to the riches you yearn for! I’ve made a list of my trusted sources of information below, so you can go and take a look for yourself. Get to know what these people have to offer in the way of knowledge and sign up for it! They give away a lot of free info, and only charge you for the best tools out there. I’m not afraid to give these guys my money, because they have proven to be invaluable to me, and because they have a very calm way of educating you… They really educate you, no empty promises with these guys.
? A POSITIVE ATTITUDE – you will be successful if you keep trying and have a really positive attitude! An excellent resource for me is “The Attractor Factor”. My FAVORITE Way to Get 1st Page Google Rankings Overnight (A Blogging Trick You Will Love)
Who else wants to know how to create content for your blogs super fast? And no....I'm not talking about using RSS feeds, or article aggregation or other controversial methods that some people find a bit gray hat, or shady. I'm talking about content that your readers will love, that Google gobbles up and LOVES to index and rank almost immediately and that literally only takes me about 5 minutes per post to do. (and contrary to lots of those "guru" tips you've got to pay for, this is dead simple and free to boot!)

All I really do is this: I write down a series of 15 premium and valuable 3 word keyword phrases I want to rank for on a sheet of paper, and place it next to my computer. Take the first phrase and Google it. Take a look at the top 5 results and find the most interesting one. (these are sites Google already has determined are "authorities" on this particular phrase and this is an important part of this strategy)
Now, you are going to want to "clip" some content from this site and post it on YOUR blog. I find the browser "Flock" works amazingly well for this -it's free and very similar to Firefox but with TONS of built in social networking advantages for this sort of stuff. (but there are lots of services that will do this if you prefer a different browser) All you really have to do is drag your mouse over the text you want, right click and choose "blog this" from the browser menu.
The content you clipped? It will go into a little poster window, and is ready to be remotely posted to whatever blog you want. (and have set up to work with the browser - don't sweat this part if it sounds complicated, it's not, I promise.....as you'll see when you try it)
Change the TITLE in the poster window to include the keyword phrase that you were targeting above, and then add something cool, unique or interesting in the title. (I like to ask a question, or say something provocative because it helps CTR in the search engines later)

have been for the past four months been a paid blogger for a Nurses blog. This has been a great experience for me as it has been great to feed back information to my nursing colleagues about topical issues related to nursing.
Now that my 4 month tenure with the nurse's blog site is coming to an end I have been thinking about blogs and how they could apply to other professional groups. A well set up and professionally mediated blog is a great way for a group of professionals to share information, research results, new ideas, even a bit of idle chit-chat that may boost the morale of your peers.
If your professional organisation or association doesn't already have its own blog or if you have one but you feel it does not represent the views of your profession then maybe this is an opportunity for you to start your very own blog that will help serve the needs of your colleagues. A blog is a great way to help unite those that feel they are isolated from their professional colleagues. With financial cut backs limiting the number who get to attend conferences or seminars, a blog is great way to be able to share the most up to date information with your peers. You could obtain a copy of the conference programme and invite each of the speakers to post an article about their presentation.
You may think that its a big job to set up your own blog but in my experience that has not been the case at all. A blog costs virtually nothing to set up and run...just purchase a domain name and web site hosting and these combined cost as little as $140 pa Aus. Once you have your hosting set up you may even be able to host many blogs on the one account for no extra hosting fees (check with your web host).
I know very little about WordPress but have found that it is quite user friendly if you just follow some simple steps and there are many instructional videos that you can easily find using a search engine on how to set up a basic blog. If you are thinking of starting your own blog for the benefit of your profession don't be put off by thinking (like I did) that you won't have anything interesting or useful to write about. You can invite your peers to submit articles as well.
Virtually everyone nowadays has an email account and most professional people have other members of the same profession listed in their email address book. Take the first step and simply send out an email to your peers saying that you are thinking about starting up a blog to address some of the common issues or problems that your profession is presently dealing with and that a blog is a great way to come up with some collective ideas or possible solutions. You may have one particular area of your profession that has the most challenges to deal with on a day to day basis. You may want to just write to this section of your profession and such treat that select group as your niche.
If you can convince three or four others to also write a 400 word article for you each week that will help to spread the load and should ensure that you have a good supply of articles to post each week. You need the articles to be on topic, not defamatory (no gossip or slander) for your organisation or your colleagues and to offer constructive advise or interesting thought provoking content. You will need to market your blog in order to let others know that it exists. A quick and easy way to do this is via a group email to all your peers.
If your blog is popular and has a lot of visitors you may even be able to make some money from your blog either by selling advertising space or by providing content that your colleagues would find valuable and would be prepared to pay for in a password protected "members area" on your blog. It is also worthwhile considering adding a forum to your blog where visitors can post their ideas/concerns as "threads" so that other visitors can also add their comments to the thread.
I always believe that two heads are better than one when it comes to problem solving or brain storming, so why not get a whole heap of members of your profession together on-line and make use of the relatively inexpensive, user friendly, readily available internet technology that is nowadays it seems is in everyone's homes or work place and start your own blog.
